Innovation Officer

NHS Innovations South East (NISE) is seeking an Innovation Officer to support its intellectual property and innovation management services for NHS organisations in the south east.

The post would be ideal for candidates seeking to move from research into the commercialisation of healthcare innovation, or those with limited technology transfer experience wanting to develop further.

The Innovation Officer will support delivery of NISE services by:

  • Providing market research and analysis to support the decisions of the Senior Innovation Manager, for innovations that have relevant clinical or commercial potential.
  • Helping NHS Trusts establish IP management processes, policies and initiatives to incentivise/encourage IP creation within the NHS, and reduce leakage of IP from the NHS.
  • Sourcing, evaluating and identifying new innovation projects with commercial potential from NHS Trusts.
  • Working closely with clinicians, consultants, nurses etc. to manage the commercialisation of NHS sourced IP.

To attract individuals with the relevant skills to the post of Innovation Officer at NHS Innovations South East a salary of £25k–£30k is being offered, dependent on experience.
